RCPCH welcomes volunteers and they play an important role in our organization. Volunteers include students who are seeking community service hours, needing an internship or practicum for school. Volunteers can look like a Sunday School Class or Civic Club looking for a project. Stay at home moms looking for an outlet, retirees who need an activity to remain involved in the community, artists, gardeners, all sorts of people are finding a purpose in volunteering with us!
Volunteers who wish to engage with our programs must participate in a Volunteer Orientation which lasts just one hour. They are introduced to our programs and all the ways that volunteers support RCPCH. With the varying volunteer roles come varying levels of training and screening necessary. Attendance at an orientation is not an obligation to become a volunteer but rather a way to learn and then discern what will work best for the individual. A volunteer is valuable to us whether they help once a year for a few hours or a few hours each week.
Look for monthly volunteer orientations on our calendar, request an on site orientation for your group or make an appointment for an individual orientation in the event none of the offered times works for you.
