Board Member Spotlight! RCPCH would like to say "thank you very much!" to the ladies of Liberty Baptist Church who organized a "Purse Project" for our DV emergency shelter. Each purse was filled with items to support our residents. It took our two tallest team members to display this beautiful quilt recently donated by a sweet and talented group of ladies, the Thursday Night Sewing Club. This amazing piece of art will be a live auction item at our Champions of Hope Sporting Clays Tournament April 29. 15 members of our RCPCH Team participated in a training on opioids and Fentanyl yesterday. Jen Wingertsahn is an Opioid Prevention Specialist with the Georgia Department of Public Health. She has a passion and mission to teach about the dangers of these drugs and how to help those who suffer overdoses. This valuable education is important for everyone but especially those who work in areas where an encounter with someone who has over dosed is likely. The 21 Member RCPCH Board of Directors play an important role in our organization. These volunteer leaders have the fiduciary responsibility for the organization and agree to attend five board meetings per year with in-person or Zoom options. They serve on at least one standing committee, make a personal financial contribution and also support the Champions of Hope Sporting Clays Tournament. This is just the minimum of what they do. It's that time again! Wishlist Wednesday! RCPCH is very pleased to announce the hire of Mr. Damian Damian. Damian will begin next week with us as a Shelter Advocate PRN. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Damian will be a wonderful addition to our shelter advocates, and we are excited for him to begin his training! It's Wishlist Wednesday! Check out the current needs we have for our organization. RCPCH is grateful for the Ocilla Rotary Club for their loyal support of our programs. This week our Executive Director Nancy Bryan was invited to come talk to the club about the agency's work of 2022 and about the goals for 2023. Bryan emphasized the need for more outreach in Irwin County and asked the group for support in finding ways to be sure that the citizens of Irwin County know of the services of RCPCH.
