Hourly Rate Range: $15.00 – $25.00
On Call Compensation: $150 per week
General Job Description
Responsible for providing bilingual (in Spanish) direct service sexual assault advocacy and outreach services to this targeted population. Direct service includes meeting victims as needed in the community and offering supportive services. Employed by the Executive Director but reports to the Sexual Assault Program Manager for guidance, supervision, and evaluation. This position also works with the Latino Outreach Program Team under the supervision of that Manager.
Qualifications for Position
· Bachelor’s degree preferred. Completion of a high school or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
· Bilingual verbal and written skills in English and Spanish.
· Computer skills sufficient to participate in webinars, utilize work email, and enter data into the Case Worthy program management software program accurately and timely.
· Working knowledge of sexual assault and advocacy of its survivors.
· Ability to work sensitively with traumatized assault survivors, particularly Hispanic victims.
· Ability to work well independently with integrity and as a team member.
· Experience working with culturally diverse staff, volunteers, and clients.
· Ability to be flexible in working a 20-hour week plus being on call for Spanish speaking sexual assault victims.
· Ability to be assigned to On Call Calendar.
· Dependable transportation and valid GA Driver’s License.
· CPR and First Aid training preferred or will be mandated initial training.
· A physical exam and criminal record check are required prior to shift work.
Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards
· Provide sexual assault advocacy services to survivors during shift, supporting the Hot Line when in the office.
· Document in a timely and accurate manner all sexual assault advocacy services.
· Provide advocacy-based counseling to victims of sexual assault in an emergency setting.
· Serves as the assigned advocate for all sexual assault cases involving a Hispanic/Latina victim.
· Work with the Sexual Assault Program Manager, Latino Outreach Manager, and Executive Director to develop a targeted outreach plan/calendar for activities and events.
· Support shelter staff during shift as needed.
· Participate in scheduled staff meetings and communicate pertinent client information to the Sexual Assault Program Manager and Shelter Manager.
· Attending all training courses required by the organization.
· Adhere to agency policies and work rules including confidentiality, child abuse reporting and code of ethics. Maintain professional boundaries with sexual assault survivors.
· Works at least two agency outreach events per year, in addition to the COH Sporting Clays Tournament, the Candlelight Vigil, and the Remembrance of the Innocent.
· Other duties and projects as assigned.
· Receive a minimum of 24 hours of training prior to beginning work with a total of 30 hours training in year one of employment. After the first year, receive a minimum of 15 hours of training annually, including cultural diversity.
