Suitcases For Kids

Adoptions have opened for Suitcases for Kids 2021, and those interested in adopting a child can call The Patticake House at 229-382-4141. If you adopt a child, the items need to be dropped off by December 1 at Georgia State Patrol Post 13. If you would like someone else to do the shopping for you, donations can be made online or mailed to PO Box 2727, Tifton, GA 31793. Checks need to be clearly marked for Suitcases for Kids.

Suitcases for Kids is a community service project of Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House. Donations are raised to support the provision of a large personalized duffel bag full of clothing, night wear, undergarments, and wish list items for foster youth in our Tifton Judicial Circuit Counties:  Irwin, Tift, Turner and Worth Counties. Children served in the past year by Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House are also provided with a case, along with their siblings.

The Suitcases for Kids Project serves over 400 children each year. This is possible because of the loving and giving hearts of our communities. Gifts of service, time, talent and treasure work together to make Christmas a true time of joy and happiness for a child who has suffered much during the year. There are many ways to support this event each year.

Watch for notices in the fall for the project and ways that you can get involved!
